MASERU — Government of Lesotho met with the South African delegate led by Special Envoy, Jeff Radebe on Monday, April 20, 2020.
The arrived in Lesotho was a day after the country’s military paraded the streets of Maseru, the morning of Saturday, April 18, 2020. The Prime Minister said, the patrol by the army was aimed at “restoring order” in the Mountain Kingdom.
In summary, the communique from the meeting between the two parties states that: The 4×4 government of Lesotho commits to implementing the graceful retirement of Prime Minister, Tom Thabane, working in closely with the relevant stakeholders.
The government further re-affirmed its commitment tot he rule of Law and Justice, as well as a stable security sector, to ensure peace and stability for the nation.
Lastly the Government of Lesotho and that of South Africa agreed to work closely at all levels to curb the infection of COVID – 19 epidemic, between the two countries.
