Two people die in police hands in separate incidents

Lesotho—A motorist was shot and killed by police at a road block in the outskirts of the capital Maseru, in the small hours of Sunday. Eye witnesses says Tau Khauoe, a prominent organiser of car racing events in the country shot in the upper back and in the arm pit.

Another man died in police custody at Matelile in the foot hills of the Mafeteng district Wednesday last week. Relatives allege the man who was arrested on suspicion that he had an illegal gun, his body, in mortuary, has signs of extreme torture which could have led to his demise.

The two deaths, brings the death toll of citizens, in the hands of Lesotho police to 22, since the inauguration of the present regime, June 2018. RK.
